About BetterBizLab

Work Smarter Today

betterbizlab helps small business owners work smarter with practical AI tools, automation ideas, productivity strategies, and workflows built to save time and support sustainable growth.

Why BetterBizLab Exists

Most AI advice online is written for developers or big tech teams, not for the person actually running a small business, juggling a day job and a side hustle, or trying to squeeze more hours out of the day. BetterBizLab exists to close that gap. We cut through the hype and focus on one question: does this tool, workflow, or strategy actually save you time or make you money? If the answer is no, we do not cover it.

Behind BetterBizLab

BetterBizLab was founded by Jacob, a U.S.-based business operator with hands-on experience across sales, marketing, retail, business operations, vendor relationships, team processes, and productivity, including retail and distribution work in the U.S. and Canada. Before writing about AI, Jacob was doing the work: managing vendor relationships, running day-to-day operations, and looking for practical ways technology could save time and get more done.

That is the lens every article, tool review, and guide on this site is written through: would this actually help someone running a business like that?

How We Create BetterBizLab Content

Every article on BetterBizLab is written with the same set of ground rules:

Practical First. We focus on real-world usefulness over hype or theory.

Testing When Possible. When we can, we test tools and workflows ourselves before writing about them.

Research When Necessary. When hands-on testing is not possible, we rely on careful research instead of guessing.

Clear About Limitations. We call out drawbacks and limitations, not just benefits.

No Fake Experience. We do not claim expertise, credentials, or experience we do not have.

Updates Matter. AI tools change quickly, so we revisit and update our content as things change.

How We Choose What We Recommend

We only recommend tools and strategies we have personally tested or researched in depth, not whatever pays the highest commission. Some of the links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a small commission if you sign up or make a purchase, at no extra cost to you.

Affiliate relationships do not determine which tools we recommend. We only recommend tools and strategies that we believe are genuinely useful based on hands-on testing when possible and careful research when direct testing is not practical.
